Carl Moyer was raised in Axton, Virginia. He grew up in a small Pentecostal Church with his family and friends. He started learning how to play the guitar at the age of 9, taught by his Uncles. As he grew as a guitarist, he began to appreciate music from different styles and cultures. This inspired him to venture out and learn so much more music. His musical idol is George Benson. Some of his other influences are: Norman Brown, Paul Jackson Jr., Mark Whitfield, B. B. King, Lee Ritenour, Larry Carlton, Ronny Jordan, Henry Johnson, Carlos Santana and Zachary Breaux.
Carl moved to Phoenix, AZ in the winter of 1995. He has performed Reggae, Blues, and Jazz with many artist and groups around the valley. When playing the music that he truly loves from the heart, it seems to be R&B and Funk. It fills his heart with joy.
